FMGE Eligibility Criteria December 2025
- FMGE Eligibility Criteria Citizenship & Primary Medical Qualification (PMQ)Candidate must be an Indian Citizen or an OCI and must possess a Primary Medical Qualification recognized for enrolment as a medical practitioner in the country where the institution is situated. This must be confirmed by the concerned Indian Embassy.
- Cut-off Date for PMQ ResultThe final examination result of the PMQ must be declared on or before October 31, 2025. Candidates must submit evidence showing the result declaration date and completion of all course requirements.
- Eligibility Certificate / NEET-UG RequirementCandidates must have an Eligibility Certificate from NMC (if applicable).Exemptions:
- PMQ obtained before March 15, 2002
- Admission taken between May 15, 2013 and January 3, 2014
NEET-UG mandatory for anyone who obtained PMQ on or after May 2018. The NEET result is treated as the Eligibility Certificate and remains valid for 3 years.
- Compliance with GMER, 1997Candidates must have met all requirements of the GMER 1997 regulations at the time of joining PMQ, including age, subject-wise marks, and qualifying criteria.
- Special Rules for Pakistan PMQsEligibility depends on security clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India. Students who joined before November 2018 or later with MHA clearance (until April 13, 2022) are eligible. Indian citizens who migrated from Pakistan and obtained PMQ there do not need additional clearance.
- Exemption from FMGE Screening TestCandidates with an undergraduate and a recognized postgraduate medical qualification from USA, UK, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand are exempt.
